Can this be used as a direct wire light using standard electrical wire?

Yes, you can use 14/2 romex to supply power to this 120 volt puck light.  It will be tight making the splices, but it can be done.

I am interested in the Xenon 120V puck lights, however the wire under my cabinets is set up for fluorecent light with the switch on the fixture, there is no wall switch. If I go with the puck lights can I add a switch underneath the cabinets too? Preferably a dimmer.
