I want to install 20w to 50w low voltage spot and flood lights on my house for outdoor downlighting. I cannot find any such lights designed for wall mounting - they are only available with ground spikes. Have I not looked in the right places or are they not available? Is there some NEC regulation against them? Do I need to make/modify my own fixtures?

All of our low voltage MR11, MR16 and PAR36 fixtures can be wall mounted by using a mounting base or junction box.  You will also need a transformer and wire to complete the installation.
