Can you give me info. on the size of the base, and the height of the unit, when pointing vertical? I want this for a large copper artistic fountain

The base of the Focus SL40 has a foot print of 4.5" Deep x 4.0" Wide x 3.5" High.

This is a great little underwater light that will give you years of trouble free service.  I would consider at least three units with the glare shields if your fountian can be viewed from all angles.
