Need to replace the light under the storage area af a roll top desk. Require an on/off switch. Plugs into wall outlet. Does this mode have what I need or is there a specific model for what I need?

This House of Troy strip light is actually a better solution for your needs.  The one you selected is designed for hard wire installations.  It comes in several different lengths.
