We have a FireX 1218 installed in our home. It was in the home when we purchased it 3 months ago. It went off when I was using the oven. We do not know how to reset or disconnect it. There are 3 installed and they all went off at the same time. I do not have a manual on this alarm.Thank you for your help. Betty tucci

The EXPERT recommends taking a look at the spec sheet for this product, which can be found by following this link: http://www.icca.invensys.com/manuals/Firex/110-1124.pdf.

Most smoke detectors are wired in series to create a system.  So when one goes off, they all go off.  I experienced the same situation at my home with the oven.  Turns out the unit closest to the oven needed replacing and that solved my problem.  Yours may be the same or perhaps it was mounted too close to the oven or cooktop and may continue to give you problems.  It''s the sudden temperature change that occurs when you open the oven that is setting the unit off.

Here is a instruction sheet on the Firex 1218 model.
