I am looking to use these lights on the outside front of a retail store in West Yellowstone Montana. They will be plugged into the existing spot light socket (is this possible?) I used conventional christmas lights this past year but they were unreliable and burned out when wrapped around the outside beams. The weather is harsh and also was a factor. Does this product sound like a better alternative and can it be plugged in to a normal socket without added parts or labor.

Yes, rope light is a much better alternative to Christmas lights when used for long periods of time.  The light rope comes with a two prong plug that will work with any receptacle.

You might want to use a timer control to turn them off after hours.  This will extend the lamp life.
