moonlighting: copper vs aluminum

I want to moonlight some oaks in a NE coastal environment. I assume that copper would be longer-lasting in this kind of environment. However, I'm concerned about how copper might affect tree health. Is one element better than the other in this regard? Also, how are fixtures attached to the trees? Bands? Screws/nails? Thanks for your help.

Our copper tree lighting fixtures come with brass mounting bases and stainless steel bolts which are tree friendly.  I have never been fond of banding techniques because they don't stay adjusted properly.  I will have the site updated to show you some actual pictures.
