The house I live in has Malibu lighting going all the way around the house up close. the one transformer I have went out but the other one is fine. how do I find a transformer that can handle the length of the lights? they don't ever say so what is the average distance will a transformer go before the lights fade in power?

Most Malibu lights are under 20 watts each and some are as little as 10 watts each.  So to play it safe, add up the lights, multiple that by 20 and you should be good to pick a new LOW VOLTAGE LIGHTING TRANSFORMER.  Check out our information on HOW TO INSTALL LOW VOLTAGE LIGHTING SYSTEM to calculate voltage drop.
