We've been looking for some low-profile lights to install above our garage door. We only need enough light to let you find your keys and unlock the door - we're not trying to light up a loading dock. Most outdoor fixtures we see are quite large. What do you think about mounting 2 or 3 HAD-SRL2U fixtures under (attached to) the soffit over the door with a transformer/timer installed in the garage?thanks,-Mark

The fixture you selected is designed for horizontal mounting on a wall or deck. I would recommend that you consider using the Hadco RFL1 which can be recessed and is flush mount. The light from this fixture will be more functional for what you are trying to accomplish. We also have some small transformers with timers on sale at a great price.
