Lighting Forum Help - Creating User Account
In order to take advantage of the many interesting tools and features of the Lighting Forum, you must first create a user account.
You may do so by clicking "user account" at the top-right hand corner of any page on the Forum. From there, you will be taken to a page that gives you the option of either entering your username and password (if you have already created one) or entering the information necessary to creating a user account.
It is important that you create a unique username, which will identify you on all the posts you make to the forum, as well as a secure, easy-to-remember password. You must also enter an email address so that your identity may be confirmed. This email address can also be used for automatic email alerts, should you choose to participate.
Most of the profile information is optional, however if you choose to enter your address information, you will have the added benefit of quick checkouts should you choose to make a purchase with us at some time.
The preferences are also optional, however it is highly recommended that you read through the options carefully in order to make your experience with the forum more enjoyable. You may choose to have emails sent to you when a response is posted to one of your threads (or topics.) In other words, if you post a question to the forum, you will be notified and sent a link whenever someone has responded. This is especially helpful if you are a hoping for a quick answer to your lighting project related question.
You may also choose one of the major forum categories as your "preferred categories." This means that whenever a new topic is posted on any of the discussions in this category, you will get an email notifying you of this new activity.
You may also select a "thread order" This means that whenever you are viewing a list of topics, they will be sorting according to your preference (newest first, most popular first, oldest first.)
The secret question may be used to retrieve your username and/or password should you ever forget it. However, your login information will also be sent to your email.
The email you receive upon completing this form will give you instructions regarding verifying your email address. You may click on the link included to confirm your email address with our system. This is an important procedure which allows us to keep unwanted junk mail and spam out of the forums, keeping your experience with the lighting forum clean and efficient.
