Replacement LED PAR lamps for exterior security lighting. If you are looking for the latest in cutting edge lighting technology, look no further than Light Emitting Diodes also called  LED light bulbs. These high quality, highly efficient lights are the most modern of our light bulb offerings at  Residential Landscape Lighting and Design, and you will be able to make your selection of  LED light bulbs for the lowest possible prices. In addition to the initial savings, you will also save money over the course of the light's extra long life and energy efficiency.

Like other types of bulbs, these produce light by having an electrical current passed through them which excites the illuminating component inside. In the case of LED lights it is a semiconductor on a microchip which creates the glow. A semiconductor is any material that does not conduct electricity well through it. By not having the electrical current pass right through the semiconductor material in the diode, the electrons in the material begin to jump out of their proper spots and then fall into others. When the electrons fall back into place, they release energy that is seen as light. The discovery of the lighting properties of these semiconductor materials, such as silicon, as well as the micro-technology required to develop these into the tiny components of  LED light bulbs is what took these lights so long to come into practical consumer use. This is only a benefit to you, since LED lights have many advantages over traditional incandescent lights.

The advantages of LED light bulbs are many. Most of them stem from the fact that, unlike incandescent bulbs, these do not generate heat. Why should this be important? Heat is energy, and by not creating heat,  LED light bulbs do not waste energy. In fact, compared to other types of lights,  LED lights require far fewer watts to operate. A typical  LED light bulb will produce more light per watt than even fluorescent bulbs. By not needing as much electricity to operate, these lights last much longer than other forms. Some people are put off by the initial cost of  LED light bulbs since they might seem more expensive than other lights, but their long life and energy savings will quickly offset that cost.
