We are considering installing HR-88 under cabinet lights in our kitchen. We would like to know:1) what is the recommended horizontal spacing between each light? 2) how far from the wall or front of the cabinet should the lights be installed? 3) the cabinets are metal: is there a great deal of heat generated?

I would space them about 12-16" apart for even light distribution and center them from front to back.  Heat is a function of wattage, so the answer is yes the lights will get hot.  Have you considered using a halogen package unit in lieu of the individual lights?  I think you might be happier with the finished product.  You can also dim both lights with a electronic low voltage dimmer.  Either way you go, we have both in stock!  Happy Holidays!
