lamp post lights on photocell

Both of my lamp post lights stopped working - they are on a light sensor. Bulbs are good. Does the sensor give out? It is attached to the house not the lamps.

Yes, the photocell can fail and it is normally due to moisture inside the unit which has deteriorated the components.  Photocells are fairly easy to replace and we have several types to choose from.  Make sure that when you install the new one that it is on top of the box and not on the bottom.  That will help keep the water out the device next time.
