If you are looking for a quick, easy and inexpensive way to decorate your home or business this holiday season,
rope light (sometimes called "
light rope") is the way to go.
Rope light is just just what it sounds like: a rope made of light! Well, light bulbs to be exact. A light rope is a long strand of low energy consumption bulbs, encased in a durable plastic tube.
Rope light can twist, turn, bend, but won't break! It is quite literally the most versatile type of decorative lighting around!
How difficult is it to create
custom lengths of rope light? If you can use a pair of scissors, you can create custom cuts of rope light using our splice kits. Our 150' reels of rope light come with everything you need to create custom cuts. Simply cut the length you desire, place an end cap on one end and a power connector and WOW! You now have a custom length of rope light that can be plugged into a 120V socket and sculpted in any way you choose.
Rope light can be used in commercial applications as well. As a cheap alternative to neon lighting, rope light can easily be sculpted into lettering or logo designs. Just look at some of our
NFL team rope light sculptures to get an idea.
Our rope light spools come in several colors:
Red,
Yellow,
Green,
Blue and
Clear. Using custom cuts and a few different colors, you can create extremely attractive designs that will wow your customers or guests. Look at our
rope light palm trees to get an idea of what is possible. You simply cannot get this level of versatility, adaptability or durability with light strings or neon lights. There simply is no alternative!
Spools of rope lights are just $99 a 150' roll! If you order 10-20 spools, we will take off an additional 5%. Over 20 spools, we will take off 10%.

Hello, hope you can help me out. I'm looking for suggestions on dimmable accent lighting. These lights will be place in small kitchen cabinets with glass doors. I'm looking for something that's dimmable and needs no transformer. I'm thinking clear 1/2" rope lighting, but the LED aren't dimmable. Any suggestions? Been getting quotes from electricians for puck lights, but I feel the cabinet area is too small and they burn too hot. Please help!
Standard incandescent ROPE LIGHTS are perfect for lighting cabinets. They require no transformer and can be dimmed with a standard DIMMER CONTROL SWITCH. Hiding the power cords can sometimes be tricky. I would go with the rope lighting.

At the foot of the bath tub, approximately 20" high we are constructing a wood box 2'' wide x 4'' high x 1.5''deep. The back of the box will be removeable and an art design will be lasser cut. Stained glass will be glued on the back of the design. I am looking for a light source to illuminate the design and wish to be able to dim the same. Any ideas.
We have some 12 VOLT LIGHT ROPE that would work well around the tub for your lighting project. You will need a TRANSFORMER, MAGNETIC DIMMER CONTROL and GFCI RECEPTACLE to complete the project. When using a ground fault interupter device with a dimmer you MUST install the dimmer after the device. In other words, the GFCI sends power to dimmer control, the dimmer control feeds the transformer, and the transformer feeds the lights. Sounds like a fun project, send us some pictures.

I have a glass railing around my outdoors deck. How can I attach rope light to the glass rail?
I would recommend that you silicone a LIGHT ROPE TRACK ACCESSORY to your glass rail to firmly hold the lights. We have 1/2" MOUNTING TRACK and 3/8" MOUNTING TRACK designed specifically for ROPE LIGHTS.
The plastic mounting tracks hold the rope light perfectly staight and will give you years of enjoyment.

Would like to have indirect lighting hid behind crown molding in our hallway. Will bending ropelightingat a 90 degree angle either inward or outward break the electrical connections within the rope.
As long as it is a slow radius turn the LIGHT ROPE should be fine going around the corner of your cove. I prefer the pearl white color option for cove lighting applications. Check out our COVE LIGHTING INFORMATION page for additional ideas, suggestions and indirect cove lighting products.

ROPE LIGHTING is a very inexpensive and effective way to illuminate railings on decks, stairways, walkways, and on railings around your boat marina. Incandescent LIGHT ROPE comes in several voltages such as
12-VOLT LIGHT ROPE,
24-VOLT LIGHT ROPE and
120-VOLT ROPE LIGHT.
Since you are around water and using the lights outdoors, I would suggest that you protect the circuit with a
GFCI RECEPTACLE. We also have light rope
MOUNTING TRACK and MOUNTING CLIPS to make your installation look beter.
We also have
LED ROPE LIGHT and
CHASING ROPE LIGHTS.

Yes,
ROPE LIGHT is a great way to softly illuminate your patio deck. Rope light comes in
12-VOLT ROPE LIGHT,
24-VOLT ROPE LIGHT and
120-VOLT ROPE LIGHT models in clear, frosted and primary colors.
Both low voltage light rope varieties require the use of a
12-VOLT TRANSFORMER or
24-VOLT TRANFORMER. Since you are using the lights outdoors, I recommend that you use a GFCI receptacle to prevent electrical shock or bodily harm.

I am trying to light a indoor staircase that spirals slightly. Because of the spiral, there are no flat wall surfaces to mount sconces or typical step lights.
Many customers are very pleased with our 120- VOLT ROPE LIGHTS. Run a pearl white rope down each side of the stairs and use MOUNTING CLIPS or CLEAR MOUNTING TRACK to hold in place. Have your carpenter router in a small channel to accept the rope light strips.

Could you please tell me how I would install the rope lighting to go with my crown molding on my tray ceiling that I am also installing or is there a different type of light that goes with crown moldings on my tray ceiling? Thanks
I would use the
120 VOLT ROPE LIGHTING for your tray ceiling. The bigger the space you provide behind the moulding the more attactive the lighting will be. I would allow at least three inches minimum for a smooth even distribution. You might also consider using
PHANTOM STRIP LIGHTS if you are interested in have higher light levels.

I had previously submitted a question about lighting the vaulted ceiling of a timber frame house. Based on your advice, I''ve decided to use the 120 volt rope lighting and I will lay it on top of some timbers that are up near the ceiling. The only place you may see the lighting is from the second floor catwalk. I''d prefer to use the smaller diameter rope lighting (so it is less visible) but was wondering about it''s light output compared to the 1/2" (larger diameter) rope lighting. Is there a big difference in light output between these two? I plan to put them on a dimmer switch. Thank you very much.
There is no difference in wattage between the two sizes of light rope. Both sizes of ROPE LIGHTS produce 5.5 watts per linear foot. You may want to install two runs if you think you need more light. It is also cool to run a white and blue if you have a light colored ceiling.
