Does someone make a picture light that will sit on the mantle above my fireplace?

I have a painting over our mantle that was a gift that I would like to light. We do not have power behind the art, but I do have a plug next to the surround. Does someone make a picture light that will sit on the mantle above my fireplace?

We have a couple of MANTLE LIGHTS for you to choose from. One from HOUSE OF TROY 14" HOT MA14-B and the other from THOMAS KINCAIDE 15inch Mantel Light 75720.

Both lights are well made and will do a good job of up lighting your art. Check out our other HOUSE OF TROY PICTURE LIGHTS if you have a chance.

Is it true that a framing projector is the best way to light art?

I have tried several different types of traditional and contemporary pictures lights and I have never been really satisfied. Is it true that a framing projector is the best way to light art?

Well that depends who you talk to. I happen to like the PHANTOM CONTOUR PROJECTOR to illuminate serious works of art. The projector has several advantages over TRADITIONAL PICTURE LIGHTS and CONTEMPORARY ART FIXTURES from HOUSE OF TROY or HOBBY HILL. First, you can shape the light exactly to the canvas or follow the contour of a sculpture. It looks awesome! Secondly, you have no infrared heat or ultraviolet rays to damage to art because all of those are filtered out by the lenses. And finally, it is fun to watch people look to see where the light is coming from because it has a "Lighted from within" look.

Picture Frame Light & Picture Light Information

I am putting lighting over art work in a restaurant on walls behind tables and want to be sure that the lighting doesn't interfear with the guests sitting down eating and seeing the bulbs as the lighting will be above their heads and at a close distance, approx 3 to 6 '. I will need about 15 fixtures for various size paintings. Do you have any suggestions. These will have to be shipped out of the US to Belize. Any problems with that? Thanks

We can ship the fixtures if you send a cashier's check or a wire transfer. I would install RECESSED OUTLETS behind each picture and put them all on a LUTRON DIMMER CONTROL for mood setting. The House of Troy TRADITIONAL or SLIMLINE fixtures are our most popular models.
