I'm interested in Phantom lighting for use in a continuous cove about 29 feet long. I need to know the
lumen's output and lifetime of the various lamp choices. Also, I need to have a description of the various trim and wiring options. (Maybe they're on your website, but I couldn't find them.
Please visit www.phantomlighting.com for more specific information. Everything you have requested can be found on the manufacturer's web site.
I would go with the Xenon lamp for color rendering and lamp life. When used in combination with a magnetic dimmer controls, the Phantom lamps will last for years. If you spacing is 4" on center and you select 5 watt lamps, you will produce 15 watts per foot. Likewise, with 10 watt lamps, you will produce 30 watts per foot. PHANTOM LIGHTING STRIPS are custom built to your exact dimensions so they fit your cove the first time!

I'm building a timber frame and want to use low voltage lights on top of the beams for mood lighting. Do I need to put the wire in conduit from the transformers in the basement to the beams?
I recommend using PHANTOM COVE LIGHTS on top of the beams for a soft indirect light source. Select the 10 watt Xenon frosted lamps spaced 6" on center with a 24 volt remote magnetic transformer. As for wiring, you will need a couple of 12/2 or 10/2 home run wires from the top of the beam to the transformer in the basement. Contact John in customer service at 800-239-2939.

It is always a good idea to run conduit for backup, however Romex® is fine as long as it meets the local electrical code.
For best results, install a LUTRON DIMMER CONTROL for adjusting the light levels for mood lighting.
