How much light does this lamp give? I am concerned about the ''disclaimer'' regarding its inability to give same amount of light as a plug-in lamp. What % less light does it give? Have customers been unhappy with the product in the past?
Battery lights just simply don't give the same quantity of light as those that plug in. We have not had complaints as most people who buy them simply don't have electrical power near the art. You should expect about 50% less light than standard models.

Hi We have a chandelier with a switch at the bottom of the stairs and at the top of the stairs. I'd like to put a dimmer on this if it's possible? The switches in the wall now have three wires running to them. The only dimmer I can get here has places for two wires. Will this work? Please don't tell me use the red or white wire. All the wires in the house are black. This is Mexico. Thanks
You will need to use a THREE WAY DIMMER CONTROL to allow for controlling the lights at both ends. You have to identify the hot wire first, and then the others are called travelers. The travelers connect to the red wires on the dimmer. If you get the conmination wrong, the lights will only work from one end. The colors don't really matter as long as yo identify the hot wire first. I would cal an electrician if you are concerned about the wiring.

I am interested in the four-light Liebetraum chandelier for my entry. I have 8 foot ceilings. The current light hangs 19" and is fine. The height on the Liebestraum is 17" - what else do I need to account for? I want to make sure that it works in my entry - thanks.
I think the Liebestraum Four-Light Chandelier is a great choice for a entry fixture. The size is correct for your 8' ceiling height and with the supplied chain you can adjust the mounting height.

I want to add ceiling light to my living room (currently there are no overhead lights). The problem I have is that there is a floor in the attic that is built on the 2x4 joints. So that leaves me only about 4" in the ceiling space (there is also shiplap and 1/4" sheetrock). I want to light some artwork on the walls and provide additional soft light. What would you recommend. What alternatives do I have considering the small ceiling space? Thanks, Lynne
You will most likely have to go with a TRACK LIGHTING SYSTEM due to your limited space. The smallest recessed light we have reuires 5 1/2" of space between the floors.

Hello- Thank you for taking the time to review my question. I am in the process of moving into a Georgian Brick home in Chicago and am faced with a living room lighting dilemma. The room is 21 x 18...the South Wall (21'') has a large bay window in the center, the West Wall (18'') has a fireplace in the center, flanked by two smaller windows on the side; the North Wall has a 4 foot archway more on the left(west) leading to the dining room and the East Wall has a large built in shelving system flanked immediately on it''s right (South) by the archway that leads to the front door. The only lights in the room are 3 small recessed ceiling lights that are 2 feet from the shelving unit (that were placed there for the shelving unit). I would like to use as many recessed lights as possible to lighten up the room (as I am not fond of table lamps), but I am not sure where to put them or which product to buy. Any help would be most appreciated.Sincerely,Dino Kostas
Obviously a lot depends on the height of her ceiling, and whether or not its a flat ceiling. But guessing it is flat and 9-10, I would recommend centering lights on the on the arched doorways, in line with either the existing lights or the small windows flanking the fireplace. Then add one or two adjustables in front of the fireplace to light it Perhaps a pendant centered on the bay window, or if not, a couple of recessed lights above any seating group. If you use a pendant and perhaps matching sconces that would be nice at the fireplace. Finally accent lights on any art work you might have is a nice touch. Westinghouse and Framburg have fixture families to choose from. That should give you plenty ambient, decorative, and accent light for a room that size.

I have always wanted to dimm the fluorescent lights in my office. The management company has said that they would install the ballasts if I could find the parts. Do you have anything to dim fluorescent lights?

I have recently replaced a single-pole Leviton dimmer with a single-pole Lutron 1000watt dimmer, and noticed that the twelve 65Watt incandescent recessed lights it controls were not as bright as before. With the dimmer set to its maximum I measured the voltage at the lightbulb sockets to be only 100volts. Does this indicate a faulty dimmer switch? There is no internal adjustment mechanism on the switch to modulate the range or intensity. Other dimmers in the house do output the expected maximum of 120-130volts, meassured at the bulb sockets.
Sounds like you got a bad LUTRON dimmer. Before returning the device check the input voltage without the dimmer.

Would like to have indirect lighting hid behind crown molding in our hallway. Will bending ropelightingat a 90 degree angle either inward or outward break the electrical connections within the rope.

I have a painting over our mantle that was a gift that I would like to light. We do not have power behind the art, but I do have a plug next to the surround. Does someone make a picture light that will sit on the mantle above my fireplace?

I had previously submitted a question about lighting the vaulted ceiling of a timber frame house. Based on your advice, I''ve decided to use the 120 volt rope lighting and I will lay it on top of some timbers that are up near the ceiling. The only place you may see the lighting is from the second floor catwalk. I''d prefer to use the smaller diameter rope lighting (so it is less visible) but was wondering about it''s light output compared to the 1/2" (larger diameter) rope lighting. Is there a big difference in light output between these two? I plan to put them on a dimmer switch. Thank you very much.
There is no difference in wattage between the two sizes of light rope. Both sizes of ROPE LIGHTS produce 5.5 watts per linear foot. You may want to install two runs if you think you need more light. It is also cool to run a white and blue if you have a light colored ceiling.
