Should I use a wooden stand with an artificial tree to make it look more “alive?”
Not necessarily. Metal stands will look just as good with an artificial tree as do a wooden stands, and they offer trees either high profile decorative enhancements or low-key, unobtrusive support.  I want to use these outdoor Christmas lights wrapped around a fence in the back yard and leave them out all winter in Michigan. Will they survive? And, if one light burns out, will the remainder stay on? These C7 outdoor Christmas lights will do well mounted on your fence. They will give you two or three years before the UV rays cause the insulation to deteriorate if you use them 24/7.
If one light goes out, the rest will stay on and all you have to do is install a replacement C7 lamp.

 I was looking at your Christmas Globe Light Strings (LSI15) and noticed that the maximum wattage for 330ft is 1400W. For a 15" spacing, (assuming a bulb every 15") and your recommended 10 Watt bulb, that adds up to over 2600 Watts. I''m obviously missing something. Help. Thank you Thank you for the question. You are right about using the 10 watt lamps will exceed the capacity of the American Lighting - Globe Light Strings LSI15 at full capacity. That is our mistake and we will add to the copy to prevent that from happening in the future. When you are installing globe lights on extended or long runs, we recommend using the 7.5 WATT GLOBE LAMPS to reduce the load.  We have 4 strings of C9''s on our tree but the fuse has blown twice now. Is that too many to string end to end on one plug? I would recommend that you split the load into two strands per feed using an extension cord. The way you calculate amperage is to divide the total wattage by the voltage. For example: 100 C9 LAMPS times 9 watts equals 900 total watts. 900 watts divided by 120 volts equals 7.5 amps. Check the fuse on the individual strings. This should solve your problem. When I plug my lights into a timer they blink on and off (no matter what the timer is set on) and if I plug them in without the timer they stay on all the time. What do you think my problem is? Sounds to me like the TIMER is failing and it is time for a new one. If the lights would fine when pluggeg into the wall, that tells me the problem is in the timer itself.  Can you tell me the difference between C7 & C9 sockets. I am looking to purchase a large quantity of sockets And bulbs but I am looking for the ones that have a larger base than the candleabra base I believe it is the C9 but I am not sure. Do you carry the round red globes to fit the C9 bases. C7 LAMPS are considered candelabra based lamps. C9 LAMPS have intermediate bases, which are the larger of the two lamps. We have 7.5 watt RED GLOBE LIGHTS with a candelabra base. WE have 10-watt RED GLOBE LIGHTS with intermediate bases as well. Order quickly, as supplies are limited!  I have a pre-lit tree with 1500 2.5v clear mini lights. How can I install a dimmer? I tried 300w Lutron lamp dimmer and it overheated and tripped off. You will have to make a custom dimmer box for that kind of load. Start with a two gang plastic electrical switch box and install a 1000 WATT LUTRON ARIADNI DIMMER CONTROL in conjunction with a standard duplex receptacle. You will also need a 14/3 grounded extension cord to plug into the wall. That should do it. The other option is to install the dimmer in the wall adjacent to the existing receptacle, provided you put the tree in the same spot every year. Merry Christmas!  I was recently in a large home improvement store of which I will not name, and I noticed that they already had out CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS AND HOLIDAY LIGHTING PRODUCTS and it is not even October yet!
