What are the various ways that I can light a batting cage?

I have a batting cage and an area (pitching mound) next to it. I want to light the whole thing 70 x 35'. Using the height of the cage plus 3' to mount the lights to. What type of lights would you recommend? How many? What wattage? Is fluorescent an option? How many etc?

I have seen all types of lighting installations for batting cages. Everything from HALOGEN LIGHTS mounted on the fence post, to FLUORESCENT LIGHTS suspended over the cage, to COMMERCIAL LIGHTING POLES illuminating the whole area.

How you illuminate the area really depends on your budget and how complicated you want to make this project. The poles would look the best, but require the most effort. The fluorescent option is probably the most practical. Why don't you send us a digital image of the cage and we will gladly design the lighting for you.

Xenon lights, halogen lights, kitchen lighting, fixtures for task lighting and undercabinet lights.

I want to install under cabinet lights in my new kitchen. Cabinets are cherry cider wood and black granite counter tops. Which type of light do you suggest is the best for this area? I don''t like fluorescent because of the inconsistency, but am afraid that halogen bulbs would become too hot against the underside of the wood cabinets. What do you suggest?

You might take a look at the XENON & HALOGEN KITCHEN LIGHTS we have from American Lighting. They are good looking fixtures that can be dimmed for mood setting. Heat should no be a problem for the wood as these fixtures are made in metal and carry a UL approval. I have them in my house and they look beautiful.

Halo recessed incandescent housings designed for direct insulation contact.

My house has 30 halo uninsulated lights on the top floor of my house and they are installed in an attic with blown in insulation. I am getting a lot of HVAC heat loss thru these cans and is there a way to correct this problem?

The easiest way to solve the problem is simply replace the fixtures with new air seal housings that are designed for direct contact with insulation.

The HALO H25ICAT HOUSING or HALO H7ICT HOUSING would be perfect for replacing your standard Halo white can. The other option is to build and install custom metal boxes or shrouds over every fixture in the attic.

Either way, it will require some effort to solve the problem. With the cost of electricity going up, it should take you no time to get a good return on your investment.

Shower lights and recessed lighting from Halo fixtures are good looking and reasonably priced.

HALO LIGHTING a division of Cooper Lighting manufactures all types of RECESSED LIGHTING FIXTURES for residential and commercial use. The white can made popular by Halo and other manufacturers comes now in a SMALL, MEDIUM and LARGE size as well as SLOPED. For shallow applications check out the HALO H27 HOUSING for those special areas where space is limited.

The new medium sized H5 HOUSING has not only RECESSED TRIMS but SHOWER LIGHT TRIMS. This a great looking shower light that has a frosted 6 1/2" diameter glass lens and a gasket for years of trouble free use.

Just think, now you can see to shave your legs!

What is the average lamp life of a Mercury Vapor Lamp? How does it compare to a halogen lamp?

Each lamp manufacturer has given these lamps an average life ranging between 10,000 for a 100-watt lamp to 24,000 hours for a 175-watt lamp. As compared to a HALOGEN LAMPS with a average lamp life of 4,000 hours, the MERCURY VAPOR LAMP is the best choice for outdoor landscape lighting.
