Commercial Fluorescent Light Fixtures Function as Luminary Solutions to Every Challenge of Power and Light

Other than lower electricity costs, do fluorescent lights offer any other benefits that solve actual problems for warehouses?

Yes they do. Fluorescent commercial light bulbs heat than incandescents, and they maintain cooler temperatures in offices and production areas. They also produce a glare free light that is much better for the eyes than that of bright incandescent lights. RLLD fluorescent light fixture technology is designed for glare free comfort, optimal safety, and longer lamp life that require fewer bulb replacements.

What about headaches caused from fluorescent flicker and the yellowish light they cast on the room?

These problems have been eliminated with the next generation of ballasts, which are now electronic as opposed to the magnetic ballasts of earlier decades. Electronic ballasts better regulate electron flow in such as way as to eliminate the stereotypical flicker of previous fluorescent lights or inferior generic equivalents. RLLD’s commercial grade fluorescent light fixtures represent the highest level of equipment engineering and manufacturing quality available in our industry.

My company has both U.S. and Canadian branch facilities. Will your equipment comply with regulations in both countries?

Yes it will. RLLD commercial fluorescent light fixtures are UL/CUL listed as well to ensure value to both U.S. and Canadian business owners. Furthermore, they are optimized for all climates in both nations. We carry a number of commercial fluorescent light fixtures that have been specifically developed for long lamp life in damp regions—regions where incandescents may sometimes short when the humidity levels peak.

In our factory we use a number of material handling tools that occasionally hit the ceiling and break lights. Do you have any fluorescent lighting fixtures that are unbreakable?

There is no such thing as unbreakable, unfortunately. However, we can supply you with impact resistance that minimizes the likelihood of breakage and replacement. Our commercial fluorescent lighting fixtures are manufactured with baked, white enamel finishes and polyester powder coatings that minimize radiant heat. We even have certain high-end models that provide additional fixture protection with rust inhibitors that protect metal parts from oxidation, and low brightness/extruded acrylic refractors that eliminate glare in critical work areas.

We are on a budget. If we switch to commercial fluorescents, how many of our lights should we replace and when should we do this?

That depends partly on where you are located, and partly on how cost effective it is to factor procurement costs offset by overhead spent on power consumption. If you live in California, the sooner you abandon incandescent lighting the better off you will be. According to the new law recently passed, all incandescent lights have to be replaced no later than 2010. Other states may soon follow California’s precedent, so waiting until the last minute could result in a budget crisis compounded by a parts shortage.

Consider the benefits of investing a little more now and saving more from here on out. Read more about specific commercial light fixtures available through RLLD here or by calling 800-239-2939.

Fluorescent light, fixture fluorescent light, commercial light fixture, office lighting & fluorescent lighting for offices.

We are in the process of remodeling a commercial office building that has 2' x 4' lay-in and 2' x 2' acoustical ceiling tiles. I would like to replace the old prismatic fixtures with new parabolic fixtures. Do you offer quantity discounts on large quantities?

We are happy to discuss with your special pricing on large quantities of fluorescent lighting equipment. We would need more information such as number of parabolic cells, lamp color and operating voltage to properly quote the project.

Our PARABOLIC LIGHT FIXTURES have T8 lamps and electronic ballasts for higher efficiency and light output. They are also more cost effective to operate than the standard fluorescent lights with T12 lamps.

We also carry OUTDOOR COMMERCIAL LIGHTING FIXTURES if your project involves work in the parking lot or parking garage. Residential Landscape Lighting & Design is committed to earning your business and providing you with the right lighting equipment. Give us a call today at 800-239-2939 to discuss your remodeling project and quantity discounts.

Jamb switches, closet light switch for doors, door jamb switches & switches for closets and utility room doors.

I installed a door jamb switch and it only works intermittently with a fluorescent light in my pantry. Is there a special door jamb switch for for fluorescent lights? Or should any door jamb switch work with fluorescent lights? (It uses line voltage.)

Your DOOR JAMB SWITCH is designed to work with both incandescent and fluorescent lighting fixtures. It's not the switch, it's the light fixture.

Incandescent light sources can be turned on and off repeatedly without any problems because they are have a filament inside the lamp and are considered an instantaneous light source.

Fluorescent light are more complex. They are gas filled lamps which require a ballast to excite the gas, causing it to light up. They are not designed to be turned on and off repeatedly. Sorry to give you the bad news.

If the ends of your fluorescent lamps are blackened, it is time to change your light bulbs. This will help your light to operate properly.

Fluorescent dimmer controls and fluorescent ballasts for residential and commercial applications.

Can I use a standard dimmer on a flourscent fixture and will it have a negative effect on lamp life if I do.

NO! You cannot use a standard DIMMER CONTROL for a fluorescent light fixture without changing the BALLAST. See our FLUORESCENT WIRING DIAGRAMS for more information. The fixture will not operate properly and may cause the ballast, lamp and dimmer to ultimately fail.

Give us a call if we can give you some help selecting the right fluorescent ballast and dimmer control at 800-239-2939.

Are fluorescent lights good for outdoor landscape lighting?

I am considering using fluorescent up lights in my garden to wash the front of my house. Are fluorescent lights good for outdoor lighting?

Personally, I like FLUORESCENT LIGHTS for landscape lighting. They do a very good job of WALL WASHING HOMES with a soft, even distribution of light. Be sure to use warm white lamps on the house and cool white lamps if you decide to light plant materials. FLUORESCENT LIGHT FIXTURES come in all shapes and sizes and wattages. If you live in a extremely cold climate, you will will want to make sure that your fixtures have a zero degree ballast so that the operate properly when it gets cold outside. My favorite fluorescent light is the FOCUS INDUSTRIES 26 WATT FLOOD WITH GLARE SHIELD. This little fixture is well made, powerful and will give you years of trouble free operation.

Fluorescent Energy Saving Light Bulb, Fluorescent Lamp, Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb

I am interested in cutting my energy consumption to save money. Someone told me that going to fluorescent light bulbs would do just that. Is that true?

Yes, 26-WATT FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS produce more lumen's per watt, therefore a lower wattage fluorescent lamp produces more light than a higher wattage 100-watt incandescent lamp. That's why you use less energy and save money. They also will last longer and require fewer replacements. They come in many shapes and sizes including an A-LAMP REPLACEMENT and a REFLECTOR FLOOD LAMP.
