Illuminate your home and your yard for the Christmas holidays!

‘Tis the season: Holiday lights are taking over! November is here and it’s almost time to start putting up light décor for your house/front yard. Christmas light decoration is an art in itself; you can illuminate your home and tree in a variety of ways sticking to a few basic guidelines:

  • The most common color combinations are traditional red and green, blue and green for a more subtle feel, and blue and red for a novelty feel.
  • Try to stick with a monochromatic scheme if you will be using another color in conjunction with white.
  • It’s easier and safer to decorate your tree from to bottom and from inside to outside.

Residential Landscape Lighting & Design offers you a one-stop shopping answer to all your holiday lighting needs. We are still offering our discounted rope lights for only $74.50, the lowest price offered on the web, as well as other rope light products such as cuttable rope light. Rope Lights are extremely versatile since they can be used just about anywhere, are easy to install, and are an affordable and stylish alternative to heavier fixtures and long cords. Navigate our entire selection of Rope Lights to find your product of choice and any accessory parts you may need.

If you are unsure of what you need for your yard, take a look at our Outdoor Holiday Lighting Packages that include a rope light kit and some fun Disney light sculptures. You can find more sculptures in our Holiday Light Sculptures section. Some of these include Rudolph the Reindeer, Mickey with a Santa hat, and a Snowflake motif, all at discounted holiday prices.

Outdoor artificial topiary trees work well at Christmas, for weddings and table center pieces.

I am planning a December wedding reception for my daughter. I thought it would be a good time to beef up our Christmas decorations to add to the festivities. Any suggestions?

Congratulations on the marriage of your daughter. A December wedding is a great way to stretch your decorating budget!

There are lots of things you can do to decorate the house for the holidays. I would start at the front door with a pair of outdoor artificial topiaries to frame the entrance. Then you can decorate the front door surround with a lighted artificial garland or hang a lighted artificial wreath on the door. These two items will pretty much take care of the front door.

Now you are ready to start hanging Christmas lights or icicle lights on the house, put net lights in the shrubs and install some holiday lighted sculptures in the front lawn. The house will look spectacular for your family and friends at the reception.

You might also consider purchasing an artificial lighted Christmas tree to use in the house. In fact, you could put several artificial Christmas trees in a grouping.

Bottom line, is the sky is the limit on decorating for the holidays. I hope some of my Christmas decorating suggestions have been helpful and your daughter's wedding is truly a success.

Christmas decorations such as prelit trees, lighted wreaths and light strings.

How many seasonal light strands can be connected in series?

The fuse is rated for 5 amps which means you can go up to 600 total watts end to end. 600W / 120V = 5 AMPS.

We have many LIGHT STRINGS, CHRISTMAS GLOBE LIGHTS, PRELIT CHRISTMAS TREES and other HOLIDAY DECORATIONS to choose from.

Thanks for patronizing Residential Landscape Lighting & Design. We look forward to assisting you with your holiday lighting needs. Feel free to call 800-239-2939 if we can be of service. Just think, Christmas is just around the corner.

Christmas lighting fixtures, holiday lights, lighted Christmas decorations & holiday lighting supplies

Do you have any Christmas lights on sale for next year?

My wife has requested that I beef up our holiday display next year. I figured if I started early, I would have the best selection. I am looking for some sculptures or other decorations to go with my existing lights.

My wife gave me a hard time this year too. It seems like no matter how many lights you put up, it is never enough!

You are smart to start shopping early for CHRISTMAS LIGHTS. We actually sell Christmas lights all year long and not just during the holiday season. We are currently having a BLOWOUT SALE ON CHRISTMAS LIGHTS on some overstocked and discontinued items. The prices are really good and you can pick up some real bargains right now. The 3D SNOWFLAKE is a very smart looking addition to your display. They look best when used in groups hanging in the trees. So are the 12" LIGHTED BALLS that we sell six to the pack.

The LIGHTED STOCKING look good when you mount several of them them on the fence or on the side of the house.

Using larger size lamps in christmas light strings can cause the fuse to blow.

I am trying to locate some clear 12 volt mini bulbs for a tree topper star. The star came with amber lights and I prefer the clear ones. I have some clear bulbs which are only 4 volts each and therefore don't provide as bright a light. If you don't have any 12 volt bulbs, can you suggest where I might find these. I have checked both with the store where the star was purchased (Smith & Hawken) and their company customer service. Neither can help me.Thank you.

Rather than replacing the individual light bulb, you might consider just replacing the actual string of lights in the star. Every CHRISTMAS LIGHT SET have fuses in the cord cap that are designed to prevent overloads and short circuits. I am afraid that if you do find the brighter lamps that you may be disappointed with the outcome.

Christmas lights used for wrapping large trees and shrubs.

I have a very large spruce tree that I would like to put Christmas lights in. What are my options? Considering the size of the tree we plan on leaving the lights in the tree. I however don''t want to see them. What do you suggest?

You might be asking the impossible. To properly light any tree with CHRISTMAS LIGHTS requires wrapping the trunk and limbs with lots of lights. Even if you had brown wire it would be a hard to hide the lights during the day. I have even done jobs where we dangled lights out of the tree like falling rain.

We have many kinds of CHRISTMAS LIGHTS and HOLIDAY CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS that may be of interest to you.
