I have a 120' x 180' area to light up for horse shows at night. I would like to know what lighting to use to get the proper light distance to lite up for my area for the shows.

Since you are using the arena for horse shows let's do it right! I would go with (8) 1000 watt metal halide fixtures with adjustable knuckles and (4) 30' steel poles with tenon adapters.  Place two poles on each side and equally space them for coverage and uniformity.  These are commercial grade lighting products that will require steel reinforced concrete footings for support.  Give Aaron a call in customer service at 800-239-2939 to place the order or to answer any questions you might have.
