Halogen Line Voltage Lighting Fixture 500W RAB QF

The warnings state not to install this less than four feet from the ground. What is the reason for this? We need to replace our Halogen light at the front entrance of our neighborhood and they rest on wood posts which are just 2 feet from the ground illuminating our front entrance columns. Thank you for your help.

The EXPERT recommends taking a look at the spec sheet for this product, which can be found by following this link: http://www.rabweb.com/common/specSheet/index.php?product=QF500. These 500-watt halogen fixtures get very hot and should be installed out of reach of small children and pets.  Have you considered a RAB fluorescent lighting fixture?  This will save you energy and do a great job.
