I have just completed a 120' x 72' covered horse riding arena. Could you please advise me on the lighting I should use and how many it would take. (The building is open on 3 sides from the five foot wall to the 16 foot base of the rafters and there are 10 skylights) The lighting is for night riding. Thanks for your help

Sounds like a very nice riding arena.  I would install two rows of our low bay lighting fitures down the length of the arena.   The lights should be spaced approximately 24'' accross from each other and 20'' apart for a total of 10 lights.  You should select the 250 watt metal halide option. This will give you good uniform illuminations and provide a very nice nighttime experience.

Remember, these are HID fixtures and will turn off if the power goes off or if someone hits the switch.  They will eventually restrike and turn back on after they cool off.  It is a good idea to have a fluorescent light or halogen light on just to be safe.

Have fun and rodeo safe!  Thanks for the question and give us a call if you need help ordering at 800-239-2939.  We have an arena lighting kit for just about every applications.  Just ask!
