The power requirements for the full court basketball layout depend on your operating voltage.  Here is how it breaks down:

6000 watts / 120 volts = 50 amps

6000 watts / 240 volts = 25 amps

I would go with the 240 volt option and feed three lights per side with a #12 THHN wire and 20 amp breaker.

Hi:

I am planning lighting requirements for a 65'' x 45'' basketball court with hoops on either side. I was recommended 2 1000-watt halide lamps on a 20'' pole. Do you have a lighting kit that will meet my requirements? Do you need a dedicated circuit? If so, how many amps would you recommend? Is it better to go with 220 volts or 110 volts? Can the installation done easily? I was planning on having 2 switches - one near/under the lighting pole and the second one near the loggia close to the house. Any recommendations on this setup?

Thanks a bunch!

Amar
