Where to start?

Hello -- we just moved into a new house and I'd like to install some landscape/garden lighting, but I have no idea where to start. Line voltage - low voltage, mercury vapor - halogen... it's all very confusing. At minimum I'd like to illuminate 3 river birch trees (approx. 20ft tall) and a path that is about 20 ft long. I'd like something I could do myself; I'm comfortable wiring things up and getting my hands dirty. Can you give me a place to start? Can I send you digital images and get your ideas? Thanks

I would suggest that you consider using one of our pre-package low voltage lighting kits.  In addition to the six up lights you will need about four low voltage pathlights to illuminate the path.  You can send images to tom@rlldesign.com or click here to learn more about designing outdoor low voltage lighting system.
