First of all you are looking at a MECHANICAL TIME CLOCK and not a LOW VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER WITH A BUILT IN TIMER.

To operate a low voltage lighting system you need a low voltage or 12 volt transformer.  The timer just turns it on and off.

How far you can you run the lights depends on the wire size and the total wattage of the lights.  I would suggest that you take a look at our DESIGNING LOW VOLTAGE LIGHTING information page for a complete overview.

For your conenience, we have assembled LOW VOLTAGE LIGHTING KITS IN A BOX for just about any size job. They are easy to install and will give you years of nighttime enjoyment.
