Question about FireX - Smoke and CO2 Alarm - 12000

Last nite the Co2 alarm sounded for several minutes and stopped. The house is less than a year old and the builder did not leave the FireX instructions. I was wondering if the alarm could have been caused by a weak battery. My experience with a weak battery alarm in other products is a chirp every minute or so. This was a regular alarm sound.
