My firealarm is chirping every minute and when I remove the device, I can see the compartment on the back where the 9V battery is. But, there is a hardiwre connector plastic piece that block the door from opening easily. How do I change the bettery? The green light is on and constant.

Simply unplug the three prong connector and open the battery door for access to the battery. Thank you for contacting Residential Landscape Lighting & Design. Please contact us at 1-800-239-2939 if you have any further questions.

I have Firex 120-10728 smoke alarms installed in my home.  The alarms were installed by a professional electrician and interconnected.  I have four questions.  1.  If I replace one of these alarms with one that is not interconnected (like a battery-operated-only alarm) will the remaining interconnected alarms still "alert" each other?  2.  One of the alarms chirps with very, very low volume when testing, even after the batteries have been removed.  Is this an indicator that the alarm needs to be replaced?  3.  Does Firex make a replacement for the 10728 that uses the same connector so that I could plug in a new model alarm without changing the connector hardwired into my electrical system?  4.  Would you please recommend an alarm suitable for near-kitchen use that would be compatible with my smoke alarm system?  We get a lot of false alarms from a unit that was apparently  mounted a little too close to the kitchen.

Thanks!
