Question about American Lighting - Xenon (4) Pack

I am puzzled. I have read that a transformer is necessary for the proper working of Xenon puck lights--yet this product does not require a transformer. Can you please explain why?

It simply has 120 volt lamps that do not require the use of a 12 volt transformer.  These guys make it easy to install and enjoy puck lights.
