Currently we have the halogen "button" (?) lights and do not like them at all. They get very hot, they sporadically fall down (the lense or the cover will just fall at times), and the wires are visible. They used to have sets at Home Depot that required a transformer out of sight and now they just plug into the nearest plug. Very unsightly and plain ugly. What is a good undercabinet lighting where the cords are out of sight and the heat is not so great? Can xenon do the trick?

Sounds like you are ready to move up to some safe, reliable UNDERCABINET LIGHTING.

We carry some very nice task lighting fixtures from american lighting that are well made and reasonably priced.  The XENON UNDERCABINET LXC SERIES LIGHTS and HALOGEN LHC UNDERCABINET LIGHTS work off of 120-volts and do not require a transformer.   They are small, in stock, effective and easy to install task lights.

So, I would suggest that you look carefully at the undercabinet lights from American Lighting.  You can get them in stainless steel to match any metals accents you might have in the kitchen.
