I am wondering how to wire a photocell to my pole light. Photocell has 3 wires red, black and white. Pole light has 3 wires black, white and green. Thank you

Hooking up a photocell is quite simple.  First, turn off the power to be safe.  Connect the green ground wire to the bare copper ground wire.  Connect all the white neutral wires under one wirenut.  Connect the black wire from the power supply to the black wire on the photocell.  Finally, connect the black fixture wire to the red wire on the photocell.

Turn on the power and place some black electrical tape over the photocell window to test your connections.

I hope you find this information helpful, and look forward to hearing from you again.

I''m installing an outdoor fluorescent light with a Photocell. So this works answer perfect for my photo cell, except the light I purchased says the following:

"Do not install in-line with a master photocell. A manual relay must be installed between a master photocell and the fluorescent fixture for proper operation."

I googled several queries on "manual relay" and cannot find my answer.

I need to know: 1. How to wire. 2. Where to buy.
