when installing this switch, do you cut the 2x4''s(both Jack and King Studs) that support the door frame. Is this suitable for typical closet doors, 28x80x13/8? Do you have step by step proceedure for installing in a door frame?

Installing door jamb switches for existing closets can be difficult. I would not cut the studs, but rather use a drill and a wood chisel to fit the back box.  Once the box is fitted, you then run your wiring back to the power supply or light fixture.  Cutting the drywall inside the closet is the preferred method of completing the jamb switch installation.
