I have a FireX model FX1218 that I need to replace. Are there any compatible with this? Or do I need to have my existing rewired to fit a new model?

This model is compatible with most smoke detectors.  It comes supplied with a three wire quick connector should your old one not work.  You can''t go wrong with FireX smoke detector.

Have you seen the combination smoke and carbon dioxide detectors with voice alerts?

I have a similar experience.  My Firex FX1218 units (5 of them) are almost as old as my daughter, who will be 16 next month.

I recently purchased two Kidde i12040 units.  I''m not totally sure that they are compatible.  I''m still getting "ghost" alarms that last about 3 seconds almost every 12-24-48 hours.

If I replace them all, will that take care of the problem?
