I installed a door jamb switch and it only works intermittently with a fluorescent light in my pantry. Is there a special door jamb switch for for fluorescent lights? Or should any door jamb switch work with fluorescent lights? (It uses line voltage.)

Your DOOR JAMB SWITCH is designed to work with both incandescent and fluorescent lighting fixtures.

Incandescent light sources can be turned on and off repeatedly without any problems because they are have a filiment inside the lamp and are considered an instantaneous light source.

Fluorescent light are more complex.  They are gas filled lamps which require a ballast to excite the gas, causing it to light up.  They are not designed to be turned on and off repeatedly.  Sorry to give you the bad news.

If the ends of your fluorescent lamps are blackened, it is time to change your light bulbs.  This will help your light operate properly.
