Roman Lights - Pre Lit Sierra Medium Christmas Tre

I am interested in this pre-lit tree. Because there are 1300 lights on it, can a dinner switch be used with it, and if so, can you tell me what type is recommended? Thanks!

It will take a standard incandescent Lutron 1000-watt dimmer control to safely control this many artificial Christmas tree lights. 

You would have to replace the wall switch with the dimmer or build a custom box that includes a cord, plug and dimmer.
