I have a 24' rope light (each bulb is rated 0.06A, 3.7W per foot - Total Wattage: 88.8W)I have these pluged into my front porch light switch and I'd like to replace the switch with a dimmer. Is this safe? What kind of lights or light bulbs can't be "dimmed"?Thank you

You will have no problems using a standard 600-watt incandescent dimmer to control your rope lights

Typically, fluorescent and HID sources are not dimmable.
