I have installed a new dimmer switch and the power is on continuously.....wiring?

You may have connected the circuit by putting the wires in the wrong positions. This would leave the lights on all the time. Please be very careful as any error like this could also cause an electrical short. I would not tamper with the dimmer or the setup until a licensed electrician can help.
