What provides the most stunning light for up lights/well lights. Is it low voltage or incandescent lights?

It depends on the size, shape and location of the tree on the property.  Well lights are used when you want to hide the equipment and show the truck of the tree from the ground up out in a lawn area.  If you have shrubs to conceal the lights, I would go with a bullet style fixture.  Mercury vapor lights are line voltage and produce a blue green color which is close to artifical moon light.  This is the favorite for landscape lighting professionals. Halogen lights on the other hand, are typically low voltage, offer a more controlled beam pattern, and produce a white colored light.  This is good for lighting smaller trees and casting attractive shadows to adjacent buildings or walls.  Both varieties are available in many wattages for just about any application.  Call me at 800-239-2939 should you need help selecting your fixtures.
