I am going to install cove lighting around a ceiling dome. I like the rope lighting, but my contractor has told me you cannot leave it on more than 3 or 4 hours at a time or there is a safety hazard. He also said it is very short lived. Is that true?

Rope lighting is a safe and effective way to illuminate a cove.  All light fixtures create heat, so it is important that you provide enough space in your cove for the heat to dissipate.  The incandescent rope lights we offer have a 10,000 lamp life or better!  For the best results, I would use our pearl white rope lights for a smooth and uniform light distribution and a Lutron dimmer control for mood setting.
