Question about Phantom strip application

When Phantom lighting is used under kitchen cabinets I have several questions: 1) do you recommend placing the strip in the front or back of the undercounter? 2) what is the wiring between strips...are they just daisy chained together in series and how do you hide that wiring? What size wire? 3) do you recommend xenon under kitchin cabinets or is incandescent more acceptable?
