I need recessed lighting for a suspended ceiling application. I have 3" holes with just a wire/bulb outlet. I would like something inexspensive to make the ceiling more pleasing to the eye. It is a very low light space so I would like something to brighten things up a bit. ??? any sugestions

We have several recessed lighting fixtures for you to choose from that will fit your existing hole.  I like the Halo H99T/993 5" diameter down light.  You can use a 75-watt R20 incandescent lamp or a 75-watt halogen lamp and both can be used with a standard dimmer control.
