I'm lighting 5 feet over the top of a fireplace behind crown moulding. I think I want HMG7UF at 5 feet. First can I order in less than 1 foot increments (4'6")? Second what transformer should I use VS12-150J? Finally, I want to have a dimmer (wall mount) and the transformer and wiring will be in the attic. Can I wire the dimmer downstream (120 Volt side) from the transformer. Any special dimmer switch needed? Thank you in advance for you time and info. Ward

You will have better results with our pearl rope light instead of the Phantom strips due to the lamp spatype and spacing.  If you are hiding behind a crown moulding you probably don't have enough room ( 3 inches or more) for the light to spread and look even.  The light rope is very inexpensive and can be dimmed with a standard dimmer.
