Down lighting vs. Up lighting?

I have two 20 foot trees in my front yard that I'm planning to accent with 100W R40 mercury vapor lighting. I am having trouble, however, deciding on the which lighting technique to use (downlighting or uplighting). Which approach would be better in your opinion for my project? If I use downlighting, will I have to make adjustments in the future as the tree grows? Please help before I make my investment.

Mercury Vapor down lights are very good at providing both aesthetics and security lighting to any property.  If installed correctly you should get five to seven years from your tree lights before needing service. I would recommend that you start with the 100-watt down lights first because they are more functional and cover a larger area.  Up lights are primarily used to showcase the shape of a tree and are typically switched separately for maximum control.  Give me a call on Monday at 800-239-2939 if you need futher assistance.
