We have a pre-lit Christmas tree. The lights are so bright that it's hard to see the ornaments. Is it possible to use a dimmer to cut down the brilliance a bit?

Yes you can dim the lights on your Christmas tree. If the receptacle is switched on the wall I would suggest using a Lutron Ariadni 600 watt dimmer.  If not, you may have to make a custom box with a dimmer, receptacle and grounded cord.  Merry Christmas!
