Bedroom Vanity lighting

My bedroom is lit with over head lighting not very effective for putting on makeup whilst sitting in front of my vanity (french style vanity). Do you have any ideas on what style of lighting I need. Im looking for something thats not too big but will be able to help me me more rather than be a nuisance (ie something big and clumsy looking). Im looking for something elegant that will be able to accent my wooden vanity.

I would recommend that you purchase a lighted make up mirror or use a small pair of candlestick lamps or wall sconces on your vanity.  Having light directly on your face will eliminate shadows.
