Can the rope lights be cut every inch or so. And can I hook it up with existing female plug

It depends on the voltage of the rope lights.  LIGHT ROPE has small light bulbs wired in series.  This means a grouping of lights is matched to the operating lovtage.  So on 120 VOLT ROPE LIGHTS, for example, you can only cut the wire every 18".  On 12 VOLT ROPE LIGHT you can the light every 2".
