I have a 12v system plugged into an outlet that runs off a light switch inside. It's nice because I can turn off/on from inside. Q: Is there a way to add a motion detector to trigger the system and still turn it on from the switch when needed?

Rab - Motion Detectors - Stealth12LVSure, we have a 12 volt motion detector that you can put inline between the transformer and the lights.  It is great for controlling low voltage lighting or security systems up to 96 watt capacity . It's easy to install and easy to test. A 5 minute Test Period allows aiming and walk testing day or night. During the Test Period, the sensor keeps lights on for 5 seconds each time it detects movement.
