I have an arbor (pergola) on my deck. The arbor is 25' long 12'wide and 8'tall, with 2" X 8" boards on edge spanning the top at 16" centers. I wish provide for this area soft lighting that would kind of "suffuse" the area. Just offer a warm glow all around. I need to use 12v lights, using a transformer. Could you please specify the type of lighting and quantities needed? Thanks.C. Nielson, Baton Rouge, LA

You have many lighting options for your pergola.  You can install a series of 5 or 6 FOCUS SL-10 LOW VOLTAGE DOWNLIGHTS down the middle or both sides depending on the post layout and surrounding plant material.  I would use the 50-watt flood lamp,  12/2 CABLE, a remote TRANSFORMER and DIMMER CONTROL for mood setting.

Focus Lighting 12Volt Hanging Basket Light - SL-06-XAnother option is to use a HANGING BASKET LIGHT to support your seasonal color baskets.  This is a very attractive and unique form of lighting.  The same transformer, wire and dimmer apply.  We have many color options, including solid copper.

We also have a great selection of HANGING LOW VOLTAGE LIGHTS that look super as a downlight or over a table for an accent light.

I hopr this information is helpful in your lighting selection.  As long as you pick a fixture that fits the style of your home, produces very little glare and can be dimmed, you can't go wrong.
