I have a nice train room, but am in need of more light. I currently have two 2 light 40 watt fluorescent bulbs to light a room 14' X 20'. I have a suspended ceiling and would like to use roughly 30 of these hampton lights. Here is what i would like to do. I will mark each lite location on a 2' x 4' ceiling tile. Then create a hole in the tile at that location. Using a piece of Masonite 1/8 thick and 6" wide i will glue to the back of the ceiling tile to mount the lite to in a recessed method. Using their plug system i could then make each tile holding lights a seperate enity that could be unplugged to remove the tile in question. I would like to add a slide dimmer to control the whole system. How many of these lights could one extension cord handle? I could hardwire the system, however the cord provided is a bit confusing and im not sure i could wire it properly. I use my layout almost every night, so there would be a lot of use. Thanks for the help. Bill

I am not familiar with the Hampton Bay Lights that you are describing.  It might be easier to consider a 120-volt system that has mounting bars designed for lay in ceilings.  That way you just cut the hole and trim out the lights.  The 50-WATT HALO H99T/993P is just what you need.  It can be controlled by several DIMMER CONTROLS to create a more attractive lighting effect.  For example, use one switch leg or set of lights over the train set.  Use another set around the perimeter of the room.  By installing two switch legs you can create several moods and change up the light levels.
